Oct0ber 20
When your flight arrives in Ankara, you'll be picked up at the airport and brought to our hotel. You can settle in, have a snack, and rest before dinner. Over our evening meal, we will debrief about the journey ahead.
October 21
After breakfast, we will spend the day at the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. This museum focuses solely on the history of the pre-Greco-Roman peoples of ancient Türkiye. It houses the iconic statue of the seated woman of Çatal Höyük, statues of Cybele, Hittite civilization relics, and so much more.
October 22
We will rise early, hop in our car, and drive to the ancient site of Hattusas, seat of the Hittite Empire. Hattusas is one of the most significant archaeological sites of the Bronze Age, where massive cyclopean walls, monumental gates adorned with guardian lions and sphinxes, royal temples, and the mysterious rock sanctuary of Yazılıkaya reveal the spiritual and political heart of one of the ancient world's greatest civilizations. As we explore its vast ruins, we will walk among the Great Temple, the Lion Gate, the Sphinx Gate, underground passageways, and the sacred open-air sanctuary where processions of gods and goddesses are carved into the living stone.

After breakfast and packing up, we will journey onward to Goreme, in the heart of Cappadocia, a landscape unlike any other, where volcanic stone has been sculpted by nature and human hands into soaring fairy chimneys, hidden cities, monasteries, and cave sanctuaries that have sheltered countless civilizations for thousands of years. We will explore its remarkable valleys, rock-hewn churches adorned with ancient frescoes, and underground complexes, discovering how Hittites, Persians, Romans, early Christians, and many others each left their mark upon this extraordinary region. The magical essence of Cappadocia is best experienced in its liminal, otherworldly beauty.
October 24-25
In Cappadocia, we will wander among the region's iconic fairy chimneys, where towering volcanic rock formations create one of the world's most extraordinary landscapes. We will descend into an ancient underground city, exploring the remarkable tunnels, chambers, and sanctuaries that once protected entire communities beneath the earth. At sunrise, those who wish may take a breathtaking hot air balloon flight, floating above the valleys as hundreds of colorful balloons drift across Cappadocia's timeless and otherworldly horizon.
October 26-27
Our journey continues to Konya, one of Türkiye's great spiritual centers, where we will visit the mortuary mosque and mausoleum of the great Sufi mystic Jalal al-Din Rumi, whose teachings on divine love and unity continue to inspire seekers around the world. There, we will experience the unforgettable dervish ceremony where it was born. We will also explore Çatalhöyük, one of the world's oldest known urban settlements, where remarkable shrines, wall paintings, and female figurines offer insights into early human spirituality and community life. Together, these sacred places span nearly nine thousand years of history, inviting us to reflect on humanity's enduring search for the Divine through ritual, art, devotion, and wisdom.
October 28-29
Our journey through the Isparta region will take us to Yalvaç, ancient Pisidian Antioch, where impressive Roman streets, a newly-identified temple to Hekate, and theaters reveal the cultural crossroads of Anatolia. We will also explore Sagalassos, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean, where soaring mountain vistas, monumental fountains, baths, theaters, and exquisitely carved buildings speak to centuries of artistic achievement and civic life. Surrounded by the rose fields, apple orachards, and mountain landscapes of Isparta, this region invites us to experience the beauty of Anatolia and the sacred legacy of the civilizations that flourished here.
October 30-31
The road will carry us forth to Kibyra, an impressive mountain city renowned for its magnificent stadium, theater, odeon with its extraordinary Medusa mosaic, and the remains of a prosperous ancient federation. We will explore Stratonikeia, one of the world's largest marble cities, where Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, and modern history coexist within a single remarkable archaeological landscape. At nearby Lagina, On October 31 we will visit the celebrated Sanctuary of Hekate, one of the goddess's most important cult centers, where sacred processions, mystery rites, and powerful traditions of divine protection once made this sanctuary a spiritual heart of ancient Caria. We will have plenty of time for both group and individual rituals and divinations while at Lagina.
November 1
Our last drive will carry us toward Selçuk with a meaningful stop at the Temple of Apollo in Didim, one of the greatest oracular sanctuaries of the ancient world, where seers delivered prophecies sought by kings, pilgrims, and city-states for centuries. Leaving the sacred precinct of Apollo, we continue to ancient Ephesus, a city where the traditions of prophecy, mystery, and divine revelation flourished alongside the worship of Artemis. These sacred places trace a powerful spiritual landscape of Anatolia, traversing the many paths along which the ancient world sought wisdom, transformation, and communion with the Divine.
November 2
On our final day together, we will explore the magnificent ancient city of Ephesus, walking its marble streets past the Library of Celsus, the Great Theater, elegant temples, fountains, and houses that reveal the grandeur of one of the Mediterranean's greatest cities. At the Ephesus Archaeological Museum, we will encounter extraordinary sculptures, inscriptions, and sacred artifacts that bring the city's religious, artistic, and daily life vividly into focus, including masterpieces associated with Artemis of Ephesus. Our pilgrimage culminates at the site of the Temple of Artemis, once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, where we will honor the enduring legacy of the Great Goddess whose sanctuary drew pilgrims from across the ancient Mediterranean.
November 3
Final Departure Day from Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport. You will be taken to the airport for your journey home, or onward to your next adventure. Bon voyage!
Journey through the crossroads of ancient Anatolia, following the steps of Hekate.
From the imperial capital of Hattusas and the timeless valleys of Cappadocia to the shrine of Hekate at Lagina, the oracle of Apollo at Didyma, and the magnificent sanctuary of Artemis at Ephesus, this pilgrimage follows a living thread through one of the world's great crossroads of civilization. Here, Hittite queens, Phrygian devotees, Carian priesthoods, Greek philosophers, Roman pilgrims, Sufi mystics, and early Christians each encountered the sacred through landscapes shaped by mountains, springs, caves, temples, and the enduring memory of ritual.
When these places are approached through a multidisciplinary study that embraces archaeology, mythology, comparative religion, sacred art, contemplative practice, and the genius loci of each site, the remarkable ruins come alive.
